Definitelly do the compression test when u can and your spark plugs. Also might as well check to see if your losing oil. If your losing oil and your plug is oily I'd say pull your head and check your valves

You know, I never actually did get to check that out. Sucks. I have always wanted to! Pretty neat?

And yes I'll try and do the compression check and check the plugs for sure. Noticed the other day I'm leaking a little oil. Looks to be the rear main seal. It's coming from between the tranny and oil pan.

Lots of leaks wind up dripping there. It's just the favorite exit ramp for leaking oil.

Our Jeeps are the favorite exit ramp for money.

Trust me. You don't want to know. If you are married, for sure you don't want your wife to know.

Yeah if my wife did have a clue... Idk what'll happen. It's already an on-going argument. "Why are you always working on your jeep? How much is that going to cost? Why do we always have to drive your jeep? You love your jeep more than me!" And yack yack yack..... Lol

If it were mine, the first thing I would do is a complete cooling system flush to get rid of all the rusty coolant. After that I'd keep a close eye on the coolant level. I know there are people out there who say 0331 heads don't all crack but there are enough of them cracked out there to make me beg to differ. YMMV.

Default Maybe I'm just slow or stupid or something...

I've been reading this thread, and I guess I just don't get it.

I mean, I'm just reading along about leaks and drips, and then...

Okay, I'm married. I get all that. Makes perfect sense to me. But then Kalali says...

So now I'm confused. I know my wife needs to cool off once in a while, but I have NO idea how to check the coolant level! And how do you do a flush...

Oh, never mind....

I did a total cooling system flush along with new radiator, hoses, t stat, and water pump maybe about 5 months ago. Flushed it all till it was clear. Had the same color antifreeze prior to my system flush. So I'm wondering why the color went back so fast. I never checked the fist time if there were metallic pieces In the antifreeze. Someone made a mention about the casting cast they use on those blocks? But idk. But yeah I plan on checking all that was mentioned above and also doing another flush to see. Been watching coolant levels and all is still normal.
