Default cylinder misfire

i have a 2000 xj that has a random misfire...originally it was cyl. 3 and 5...then it jumped to 1 and 3...i didnt move the plugs around to see if the misfire followed the plugs... and every now and again it starts up and idles like ****...it sounds like it backfires and to clear it out i have to try to rev it past 2000 rpm once it does that its fine any idea whats going on...i think it might be the crank sensor

it has to do with "heat soak". do a search. something with the exhaust moved and the heat form it causes the fuel to vaporize in the fuel injector line.
