Has anyone ever just took off they're stock rear leaf shackles and modified them to become a 2 inch rear shackle lift??

 

Yes, its possible, but no, its not reccomended. Just spend the money and do it right.


Lowering shackles for S-10's can be used for lift shackles, and they are supposed to be pretty cheap.

drop shackles for a 88-98 chevy 1/2 ton work. can be got at most parts stores cheap. (autozone, orielly's etc.)

I couldnt get the link to work, but from the description in the link, yea they will work. I beileve chevy,dodge, and ford use the same drop shackels. You should look for some one who is bagging a chevy or something and building a custom 2 link or 4 link, They proably would have some drop shackels you could get for free or next to nothing.
