I ditched the mech fan for a 2 speed taurus fan, High moves so much air it will create a dust cloud coming out of my engine bay or from underneath lol

I wouldnt be surprised if someone sold a kit for it. I wired mine myself and it wasnt too bad. Just a 3way switch, 2 fuse holders and 2 relays. I also use a thermo controller to control both fans with a kill switch for water crossings or manual control if i want

yeah but then you ahve to mod the old mech fan bracket etc etc. She has 214000 on her and I dont know how much longer she will last. Its not dying, but starting with oil leaks from god knows where. Its not a bad leak, just on the side ( pass side ) of the motor. I cant find out where its coming from hha..

so in the end, I dont want to do a lot of work on it and then shes dead.

Thats about where mine was when i did the mod, at almost 228K now and people say it runs better than their jeeps or has more pep. The mech fan eats up alot of the throttle response and alittle HP (I also have other bolt on crap). My GF and I are in a race with the amount of mileage on our jeeps. I at 228K and she is at 218K in her 01 (all original drive train but lifted on 32's). Both are southern jeeps I took to MI so the cheapness and rust-free bodies made it a big perk for the little extra work

Thing is, I have an open loop system, so I will be forced to convert.

Not a big deal, tho.

haha cool.

Do you have any info on the wiring? I really dont want to go thru all of that though lol. Just I dont want to dump hours into it and then shes going to the scrap yard shortly after... I think Id rather go dirtbound's 3 fan kit for 300 shipped.

Has anyone actually purchased/installed one of those American Eagle rads? Does the model that fits the XJ really have two 1" wide rows?
