At what cruising speed in the 4L can you get the maximum fuel mileage?

My guess is 55-60 and keep it steady as possible not shifting down for uphills. That is how I get the good mileage. The 4.0 will never get good mileage but you know what I mean

4 Low shouldn't be used on the pavement at all...you use 4 Low for torque and power anyways so why are you even questioning mileage...

Well time to get the abbreviations for things right then.

If that is the case, then 55-70 depending on terrain. If fuel mileage is huge for people, Honda's are all the rage.

you have to love how muxh gas your jeep uses.

jk best bet is to find the happy medium where your rpms are low as can be without constantly having your trans upshif...another advantage i have with my 5-speed. BOO-YAH!!

2300-2800 RPM... slower the better. I get 19-20 on the highway if its flat doing 60.

I get best mpg running at 2300rpm (20mpg)... unfortunately, that's all of 55mph with my gearing and tire size.
At 2500rpm (70mph to keep from getting run over) I knock down 19.2mpg... although I'm sure it has more to do with wind resistance than it does rpm.
