cruise control and vacuum pump
My cruise is not working; the light doesn't even come on and it won't set.
Could I hook a vacuum pump directly to the actuator (which side?) and create a vacuum to determine if the vacuum hose is leaking? I'm thinking if I create the vacuum then the light might come on when I set it.

What year?
Yes you can use a hand vacuum pump to test the actuator, but that isn't what drives the light. What exactly does depends on what year your Jeep is. Bad steering wheel switch assembly is a common failure if the light won't set, depending.
