Cruise Control Servo and cable

Cruise Control Servo and cable
So I am making space for a 2nd battery in a 1999 xj with a 4.0L.
One of the things I moved was the cruise control servo. I would like to re-install that but it isn't going where it was. (the relay/fuse box is there now)
Does the orientation of the cruise control servo matter? If I were to mount it upside down near the firewall would it work fine? (so long as the wiring and vacuum were routed over there)
Also does any one know if there other Chrysler vehicles that had the same servo but a different length cable?
