Default Cruise Control Non-Functional

My cruise control no longer works. Where do I start? The light no longer illuminates when you turn it on. I can't find the right fuse and need some help here.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated.

A few areas that it could be..Vacuum, Cruise Control servo but my guess is a vacuum issue. Only reason I asked year is I have the complete layout for the 91-93 models.

I'm trying to check my vacuums, but the problem is that I don't think I have power to the cruise control unit to attempt to run it. I suppose I could check the grounds, but I don't know where they are for the cruise unit...there are many grounds.

I'd be more than happy to see the layout and attempt to apply it to my year and trim level.

vacuum isn't likely at this point cuz he's not getting power with no light turning on. gotta find the fuse first.

Yup. Where the heck is it? I've checked the PCM and the fuse box at the driver's foot and I don't see any blown fuses. Are there others or maybe slots that I don't have filled. I'm looking to eliminate possibilities.

no manual i assume. go to a parts store and pick up a manual, it will come in handy all the time.

your owners manual usually has the fuses laid out also. they aren't good for much , but fuses and 4wd operation is about it.

check your brake light switch. a miss adjusted or defective brake light switch will cause the cruise control to think the brakes are applied and will
stay turned off.

I DO have the manual. The problem is that for some reason, the manual shows a different fuse layout for both the PCM and the fuse box. That being said, I cannot determine what circuit each fuse is for. I have the manual that comes with the car and the FSM.

I'm not sure how to do that, but my brake lights do not stay on when I'm driving. Does that rule out the switch?

Not really, but that is usually the easiest way to tell if thats the problem. I'm not sure how to test or adjust the switch off the top of my head tho.
