so i have two 8.8 axles sittin in my garage one from a 97 explorer and one from a lincoln (same as the crown vic) the lincoln axle has 28 spline shafts and weaker tubes but better brakes....i want to put the brakes from the lincoln onto the explorer axle since it didnt come with brakes the problem is that the lincoln has abs on the outers of the shafts instead of on the ring gear so when i mount the backing plates the discs are too close.... can i put a wheel spacer in between the flange and the disc instead of between the disc and wheel? if anyone has any info this would be greatly appreciated
