crossmember issue

Default crossmember issue

I believe the threading in the frame for where the cross member mounts is stripped or just completely gone. What would be the best way to get around this. I dont want to weld the crossmember on. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Helicoil or drill it out and retap to the next biggest size.

Well i think the person who owned it before i did broke the weld nuts off so im not sure there is anything to re thread. I was going to make a u mount that goes around the frame with 1/4" flat stock. But with the flange that's there i don't know if it's possible.
