Default Crazy measurments after lift install?

About 2 months, 3000 miles ago I put on a 4.5" RC lift with AAL and shackles. The rear was sitting WAY low. So low that the A/C started to drain in the floor instead of out the tube. To remedy this I installed 2" blocks. I measured the axle to the frame and the front is 12.5" and rear is 12". The research I did said the stock should be 6.5" front and 6" rear. If that is true than I have 6" lift coil springs. I don't think that they will settle 1.5". Will they? Help!

you're supposed to measure from the center of the wheel to the bottom of the fender flare. My 4.5" measures about 6-6.5, no sag in the rear, I sit level. But I didn't do add a leaf either, I went full leaf packs.

Tire size should not matter as long as you are measuring from center of hub.

AAL will sag very quick. Depending on how old and worn the spring pack you are adding to, an AAL that is suppose to add 2" may only bring the OEM spring back into spec... In other words... the lift would lift the sagging spring for a net gain of 0"

Measuring the center of rim to the flare I get 23.5" front and 23" rear. Which is still 6" of lift. I am not complaining at all. I just wondered how much settling I would get and how long it would take.

Alright. He is correct in how he measured.

top of the axle tube(the actual tube not anything else like steering linkage or whatever) to the bottom of the frame rail.

front-stock:

With Standard or Soft Ride Suspension, vertical distance should be 17 cm (6-3/4 inches) plus or minus 13 mm (1/2 inch). With Heavy Duty Suspension, vertical distance should be 20 cm (7-3/4 inches) plus or minus 13 mm (1/2 inch).

rear-stock:
With Standard or Soft Ride Suspension, vertical distance should be 15 cm (6 inches) plus or minus 13 mm (1/2 inch). With Heavy Duty Suspension, vertical distance should be 18 cm (7 inches) plus or minus 13 mm (1/2 inch).

ANYTHING more than that is lift height.

This is not the only time this happens. The truth is that the numbers really don't mean much. I had a 6" Skyjacker front coil for awhile that was really a 7.5" lift. I called them and they said that was the right height. So, you get what you get. I currently have a RE coil that is supposed to be a 7.5' that is really 8". It is just one of those things. They should not settle more than 1/2" from what you have now. You will just have to enjoy the extra height.
