i tried what you said and it held pressure so i will replace the fuel pump tommorrow and hope that thats it. thanks for all your help

You don't have to replace the pump. Simply add an inline check valve near the existing fuel pump and you're golden.

not to highjack the thread but wheres the best place to find an adapter to fit the schrader valve to go to a gauge, thanks

I'm 99.9% positive that all of the fittings out there are a standard size. Any fuel pressure gauge will fit.

i just went aheah and peplaced the pump, aftermarket pumps are different, good thing this site had a how-to, my pump didnt come with instructions.that fixed it. thanks again

i just lost mine and it is 80 bucks to replace and its a PITA to get to due to the fact its on the back of the engine. but its not terrible pricey for a jeep fix.
