With help from my personal Jeep parts saleman (father) I figured out the problem.... owner error. SOMEWHERE... SOMEHOW.. I got the idea I had a 91... Apparently my VIN shows a 93... and guess what.. check out the CPS for a 93.. DING DING DING we have a match.

I am such an IDIOT.

Ok... so we have established I am an idiot.. but what is the difference between the two sensors? The one I have for a 91 is only $39.99, the one for the 93 is $61.99. It seems to run fine with the wrong sensor, but I dont want to mess anything up..

They sold more Cherokee's in 93 than in 91 so the price is higher!
Maybe the connector has plutonium in it to operate the flux capasitor.
IDK but if it ain't broke don't fix it.

I have and 1993 and a 1994 CPS and they do look like the ones you need Prerunner. The one out of the 1993 is just sitting around incase you were interested.

How much do you want for it? I dont think I can take the one I just bought back as it has been installed and used for few days and I cut and spliced the connecter on it.

Just thought that there were three different CPS units. 87-90, 91-96, and 96 on. now it seems there are more. I'm confused, as usual. If it ain't Renix then I am not the one to ask it seems. Have had a 92 and a 96 and both were different from each other and definitely different from my Renix. So there are even more choices from Cryco.

I hope my stupidity may help others in the long run. Sounds like I stumbled across some info others may not have known. Of course if they know what year thier vehicle is they should have a problem...
