Hey all,
Working on fixing an intermittant no start issue on my jeep and all of the thread searching has just confused me more. I need some help here. What do you think is the issue?

My 96 XJ with AX-15 (no NSS) has been slowly developing an intermittant no start issue. Often the jeep starts and runs fine but occasionally, I will turn over the XJ and about as soon as it fires, it dies and I lose power to all electric. I can do this 6-7 times with it operating the same way and then it will randomly fire and run great with no power issues or anything. Battery grounds look good and I need to know what to replace/test first. I am leaning toward the ignition switch as slight pressure toward the off position while driving will kill the motor and pressing it forward will give the vehicle all power back. I have yet to check this trick while starting the motor as it has not been finickey lately.

What are your thoughts?
What are the symptoms of a faulty CPS or ignition switch?

sounds like ignition switch. bad crank sensor is cranks no start, or missfire if running.
