Courtesy lights stock?
Hey everyone, I have an early 96 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I have seen others post on here about finding courtesy lights under their dash that just had bad bulbs. I crawled under my dash (nearly felt like I was going to break my back) but cannot find anything that would even resemble a bulb. Was the courtesy lights standard in Jeep Cherokees? Are the lights attached to the lower dash panel? does anyone have pictures of where it would be/what side it would be on, etc? The more detailed the better.
I have also noticed that my Cherokee appears to have been wired for everything that it doesn't have (over head console and some other things when I tore it all apart to redo the interior). Is this something that if it didn't have, it would be easy to add in by getting the parts?
Thanks!

Can't speak for the '96 but my pretty much plain vanilla '93 came with wiring harness for pretty much all options including connectors for under dash courtesy light on both sides. I salvaged the sockets and mounting clips from my '85 to mount the bulbs. The connectors were different so also took the '85 connectors and soldered them to the existing wires. Easy job other than standing on your head that you mentioned.
You will have to track down the parts but hopefully power will be there when you're ready. Assuming they are indeed there, you should find the connectors tucked up behind the lower dash panel along with a bunch of others.

Its a small metal bracket that screws to metal on bottom of dash . That accepts a bulb socket . Got mine from a junkyard xj. http://www.ebay.com/itm/1996-JEEP-CHEROKEE-UNDER-DASH-INTERIOR-LIGHT-DOME-LIGHT-/171384603955?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27e75185
