Quick update guys: just stopped by autozone and the guy there let me test out all the bulbs in each interior light socket I mentioned and they all work!! They aren't on a timer but they turn off when the door closes and turn off and on by twisting the dimmer **** for the headlights. All is good!!

Thanks! The work perfectly! They don't go on when the trunk opens but I'm pretty sure that's why the cargo light back there has a button. And those lights get super duper got my goodness. Misplaced the plastic cover for the cargo light so I need to replace it. Might use a screen/mesh material and use electrical to tape it on.

That's exactly what that button is for. Mine doesn't work and I wish it did

Don't know about yours but mine has a "Dummy" button to fill in the cutout made for a real switch. Why would they do that? to save 5 cents? Haven't taken the cover off yet, but I think a real switch could be put into place and connected inline to a ground back there?

I need mine to work also

It is black and looks just like one of the front map light buttons...but is fake and locked up solid. pretty sure it is just there to fill in the cutout.

Maybe it could be replaced with a real working map light switch though? I haven't pulled it apart yet to check. If I get caught up I will take a look

If someone else looks please let me know? lol

Hey man I didn't end up going to the junkyard. I had the flu, followed by pneumonia, followed by bad allergies so I haven't been doing much lately. I may go later this week so if I do I'll let you know what I find

Hope you feel better! I fixed pretty much everything with the lights. Inside and out! Just replaced my brake lights and these little small bulbs that aren't brake lights but go right next to them. They just stay on when the lights are tired on. Don't know the point but I wanted everything working!

Sorry to hear that! I am off to do some wheeling but will check this out when I get back. I need to pull the map light out and fix one of the lenses, I will pull the rear out and take a look while I am at it.

Hope you feel better

Well I don't have my jeep at all. After I posted about this all of my lights went out because of a melted fusible wire and as I was going to the mechanic it died on me and t wouldn't start. That was last week. Just found out today it's because of a weak cpi and the ecu is half dead. So yeah (
