Could someone please do me a favor?
My temp gauge doesn't work, so after some research on the board I buy a new sending unit and thermostat just because. I open up the hood and think I see the place to plug in the sending unit drivers side back close to the fire wall but there isn't anything plugged into it. I search around and cant find the plug or burnt or cut wire anywhere?
Could someone please take a pic of the sending unit plugged and unplugged so I can try to trace where this wire should be?
Thanks,
Manny

What year is your XJ? If there's no spot for the sending unit on the T-stat housing, you should have a 1/8 inch threaded hole located on the head (by the firewall, drivers side).
Look to see if they have a plug in it.

Man I don't know what I was thinking. Lol!
Problem solved. I have a 96 and the sending unit is is the thermostat housing up front. The plug for the gauge is on the back drivers side. The connection was sucked up in some wires.
I appreciate the help guys! Still learning this bad boy. The previous owner has done wonders with wiring. It's like a snakes nest.
