Exclamation Cooling system problems

My 94 cooling system is weird. It keeps getting to operating temp, then it will fall to about 155. but it wont over heat and it blows out hot air when i run the heater. I change the thermostat thinkin that would fix it, and flushed the system thinkin that would fix it also. But it didnt. It has coolant in the radiator and in the overflow. Any help from anybody. Im totally mind boggled. thanks.

Are you going by the guage or checking the actual engine temp.

Ya, you might ohm out the coolant temp sensor

I would check the radiator cap aswell, I had a dodgy one and the gauge was constantly low as the system couldnt pressurise

ill try those ideas. the spring on the radiator cap seems kinda "loose" i guess. you can have the cap in your hand and shake it and the spring seems like its not tight and it rattles when you shake it. would that be a defective cap? and ill ohm the sensor too. thanks everyone.
