Shot in the dark here and others may chime in to say i'm a complete idiot but in the process of flushing the system could the TPS have accidentally gotten wet? I know it's in a different part of the engine compartment but I've had hoses slip out of my hands before and soak things.

I was under the impression that you didn't want to get the exterior of it wet (gleaned this from all the "washed my engine and it won't run right" threads I read during the summer). Still brainstorming on other causes of the poor running though lol.

hmm, no not that I've ever seen. I degrease and hose down the engine whenever it needs it (this on my old one, my 2k1 doesn't get too dirty) and it runs fine wet... even the distributor seems to stay dry.

One quick thing you can try is to reset the computer. Disconnect both battery cables and then touch the positive and negative ends to each other for a few seconds. Should reset the brain, might help rebalance your idle and smooth it out a bit.
This isn't necessarily the answer, but doing the simple things first at least rules them out.

You replaced it? A lot of stuff has to come off when you replace the head gasket. Make sure all connectors are clean; dielectric grease is a miracle on a nice clean connector, and especially re-check and clean any and all grounds (don't search grounds on here unless you have several hours to read) It may not even be directly related to your recent work.. Have you ever replaced the pre-cat O2 sensor? I recently did mine, and the idle improvment was VERY noticeable. You might clean your IAC too. Just some thoughts.

Well I had to replace a blown hose and my thermostat. But I am having problems with my oil pressure dropping at idle after its warmed up. I had a similar problem before but it dropped the whole way to 0. Now it is dropping to 20 or so. It still has a little bit of a rough idle. And I replaced the oil pressure sending unit a little over a year ago. Is it possible that it has went bad already? Really not sure about this problem but I am concerned. Help would be appreciated! Thanks.
