This is the stuff btw. I have no reason to promote the product other than my positive experience. It's not the $10 stuff, it's more expensive. But it's 1 step, it's easy, and it's effective.

No hate here. The deal is, combustion pressures are many orders of magnitude higher than cooling system pressure. Adding stuff to the coolant to plug a breach between the two usually fails. The end result is the need for someone to get in there, change the head and/or gasket, THEN deal with the aftermath of the gunk that was added, heater core radiator ect. People where just trying to save you a potential headache!
Sooo Great news! (so far). Please let us know how this stuff works out, (heater too).

Will do. Had to turn down the heat this morning... So that's working fine. I agree this isn't a permanent fix. How long, I'm not sure... Hopefully 6-12 months. But it only took me 12hrs working time and $150... The time would e cut down too if I wasn't a first timer.

Flushed system
Used gunk
Changed thermostat
Changed radiator cap
Switched out some hoses
Replaced water pump

I will update this thread in the future if/when the gunk fails.

I would like to add that I'm nearly at a year. At least a dozen hard off road trips and a solid 15k miles without any noticeable issues. Heater works, coolant doesn't dissapear, and I still am holding on to that $$$
