With a good fan clutch, the mechanical fan moves a bunch of air. Hi amp electric fans place a heavy load on the alternator which in turn places extra load on the motor. If electric fans don't move as much air as the mechanical/electrical fans, then............

me personally will be swapping in a second electric fan in place ofmy clutch fan. ill be doing thus because i know for a fact that there are a few of them out there that has a higher airflow than that loud squeeking clutch fan does. and the load draw is going to be about the same since th clutch fans weight and and design hinders the full free motion of the timing belt, and on the other hand the electric fan puts a lil more stress on the alt

electric cooling fans when done properly are well worth the added load on the alternator. running at full speed no matter the rpms of the motor. can still run with the motor off, can be shut down for water crossings, and your jeep will heat up faster in the winter due to the fan not kicking on until needed instead of running all the time like the clutch fan. then theres the small gains in hp and tq and your engine may even seem to rev a little faster. all these are minimal gains though
