Coolant on Passenger Floor
I've had a small coolant leak since I bought this xj 2.5 years ago, never could figure out where it was coming from. Well, I recently realized that the passenger floor wasn't wet with water due to a lack of floorboards; coolant was dripping down from a plastic housing above it.
It hasn't gotten worse over the past 2.5 years, but I can smell it for a few minutes when I first turn the heat on.
I'm assuming this is the heater core; what is the best way to get to this?
Is there any way to tell if it is a hose, or if it is the core itself?
Is there any danger in just leaving it alone?
Thanks

Sounds like heater core is leaking have to remove complete dash board its a major job
You can bypass the heater core if you don't need any heat in your cab. Keep an eye on coolant level so it doesn't get to low and overheat your engine.
