Its actually pretty easy depending how you wanna go about doing it, what I did was go to the local salvage yard and found one with manual cranks, I chose not to use the door panels from the donor because they were crap so I just diamond plated it, and capped off the power wires, it turned out nice, or you can buy the manual setup online new but that can get pretty spendy when its said and done

That should be about it. I'd open your door panels first to see what's there and then grab whatever's not from the yard.

The manual crank is directly connected to the window track. I don't have power anything in my '87, but I can't imagine that you can go from power to manual windows without replacing the whole track (i.e. I don't think it is just a disconnect the power and slap a crank on it job). The track/crank is riveted to the door with 6 1/4" aluminum rivets. You can drill them out no problem, and you can get a large rivet gun (type thing) that will accept 1/4" rivets from Harbor Freight.

As long as you mount some sort of side view mirrors you should be fine.

Did anyone ever end up doing this? I'm looking to try the exact same thing.

Any pics of whats behind a manual window door?
