you can get yorks in a few sizes, they arent any bigger then the one you posted pics of. Iv seen them in fords, datsuns, they are used still to this day on a lot of service trucks.

lol Viair makes pretty good products. I have a 150psi 100% duty cycle comp from them for 4 years now on my s10 and its still just works away

I'm keeping the a/c so I'll be installing this hanging off to the right...which means I need to relocate my batteries to the back.

 

I did this a couple months ago. All I did was had the systemed emptied, cut the hose, and used hose barbs to connect the in and out. For the in I used a breather filter, tool oiler, and then into the pump. For the output I have a filter into a tee with a pop off valve and quick connect. Works really good with no tank. I can fill my 31s from 15psi to 30pis in about half a minute.

I finished mine up earlyer this week. with a 6gal tank in the rear it powers my 1/2" Impact with ease.. hell for short bursts the OBA will power the impact without the tank!

thanks.yeah i was going to use a tank but dont want to spend $70 and it would be pointless as i have no air tools. if you wanted to run air tools i think you could with no tank due to good flow. if more flow is needed increase the engine rpms a bit.

 

I just wanted to know, incase I ever wanted a tank. I dont have any air tools of my own right now either.
But definitely good design! I like things that are simple and effective.

 

owning a pickup that has air ride.... one thing i havent seen is anyone use a pressure switch to shut the comp off. So if you do decide to use a tank install a pressure switch. Then you dont have to worry about over filling AND it will keep your tank aired up to the pressure of your liking (depending on what you buy)

This is what I use. I like it because it has the switch, relay etc built into it. Just connect it to your tank, clutch of comp, power and ground.

Mechanics Im just naturally inclined at, but when it comes to electronics, like circuitry, switches, & wiring schematics...yeah, not so good.
