Default Control Arm or SYE?

From what I've heard (oh no worst words to hear from a noob) you only need either an control Arm Drop Kit or an SYE is this right and if so which one would be better for building a Rock Crawler?

i dont get it. these two things have nothing to do with each other. maybe your thinking of a transfer case drop kit vs. SYE?
