control arm dangers?

i just got a 4.5" RC lift what are the risks or dangers of me putting on the lift without a control arm drop kit? i know the ride will be rougher. but is there any actual dangers where i could damage my xj or anything like that? thanks

you wont be ably to get the caster correct witch will cause some issues. is your kit coming with a lower longer arm or no arms at all.

will a lower control arm do the same thing as a control arm drop? and idk i got it off a guy from craigslist although it is a brand new kit never used or open i just dk what add ons he got but this is what the kit definatly comes with:
front coil springs, front lower control arms, transfer case drop kit, swaybar links, brake line relocating brackets, (4) RC Hydro 8000 series shocks, and rear add-a-leafs and shackles. Upgrade to the system for NEW rear leaf springs.

yea the front lower control arms are what i am talking about you should be OK just get it aligned before driving it any where.

right i know to do that. so with what im getting i should be all set and can afford to wait for the control arm drop till i can afford it and it wont damage my jeep?

yes you should be ok for now. the next thing i would save for might be a s.y.e. but i would wait and see if you have any vibes first

clayton3854 May 27, 2009 05:52 PM

sorry but s.y.e. means? still learning here sorry

slip yoke eliminator makes it so you can run a cv joint in the rear not the slip joint that is in there now

clayton3854 May 27, 2009 05:55 PM

ohhh yeah iv heard of those actually. how much will that run me?

a1racer May 27, 2009 05:57 PM

any where from about 400 to 550 depending on who you get it from and what shaft you use

clayton3854 May 27, 2009 06:00 PM

ahh gotta love how expensive everything is for jeeps. if i still decided to go with a control arm drop would that do or prevent the same things as a s.y.e.

a1racer May 27, 2009 06:01 PM

no two totally different things one is in the front and other is in the rear

clayton3854 May 27, 2009 06:02 PM

ok. and which is better to get? and would it be best to get both? and would it be ok if i just got control arm drop bc i can afford that sooner

a1racer May 27, 2009 06:05 PM

just wait and put the stuff on see what happens and what you will need. you most likley wont need the drops and the sye may not be necessary either

clayton3854 May 27, 2009 06:09 PM

ok cool. so your saying ill really only need the control arm drop if i have the "death wobble"
