Default A confusing Coolant leak.

I have a 1989 Jeep Cherokee Sport with stock 4.0 in it. It was my father's daily driver since he bought it new until probably 94 then it saw limited service on our farm it then sat unused for three years in south Alabama. It is originally from Minnesota and has a couple thousand over 150,000 miles. It also leaks coolant really bad. The leak comes from the driver's side of the engine block and my father believes it could be a freeze plug that has failed or a coolant line near the intake manifold. Do you guys have any thoughts on it, I will try to get pictures up soon.

put some water in it and look for the leak, probably have to crawl underneath and see , probably not a hard thing to fix, but you gotta find it first.

The only coolant line on the driver side is the water pump. It's pretty easy to see from underneath. Here's to hoping it's not a soft plug..

What do you mean by "soft plug"? Because it sounds real important.

yes. my manual refers to them as "soft plugs" but they're also called "freeze plugs"...
