Compressor? Clutch? Belt?
So, I've been doing some research to find out what's wrong with my 95 XJ and I'm still not sure...
When I turn my a/c on it squeals. It only does this until the engine warms up (usually just keep turning it on/off until it stops). I have also noticed the Jeep making a "revving" sound the entire time the a/c is on (like it isn't switching gears?) It does blow cold.
So do I just start with tightening/replacing the belt? And go from there? How can I rule some things out? I've seen the words compressor and clutch a lot in my search.
Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

X2 on tightening the belt which you do until the squealing stops and no more.
The "revving' sound may well be the E-fan which on the '95 is running all the time while the A/C is on.
