8.8 is significantly stronger then your stock axle and it will have the disk breaks which is a plus. it can be found on older exploders.

retard with the blazer wrecked it already... hes in search for another. until then the comps off. personally im not to worried about it, but im starting to get obsessed with KTMs xj... the 37s w/ hardly any lift... since i have a 2dr, and dont have to worry about a rear door, if i were to tub the rear wells, and cut the front fender, to no specific limit, with a 2" lift, how big would i be able to go?
heres 37's with 1.5"

keep in mind your front axle will not hold up and the 8.8 or 44 will be at its limit.
also took alot of suspension modification to make this work (front axle pushed forward, extended bumpstops etc.

see, i LOVE ur rig! watching the vids and stuff, between sisor and youtube... drives me up the walls. would the stock axels hold upto 35s or 33s? atleast till i can get something beefy under there. i beat the hell outta my 87 yj on 35s and stock axels for quite some time, which is where the little bit of knowledge, assumptions and what may be common knowledgable questions i have come from.

the d30 will run 35's but it is recommended that you cromo the front shafts before doing so.

Waggy D44 87-9? is d44 front and rear and only like an inch wider than your D30,35. 81-87 (i think) have axle disconnect and dana 20 rears. You don;t want a 20. Some people are using isuzu rodeo rears to mate with the waggy front. Same bolt pattern,410's, track lock and rear disks. They say there as strong as a D44. If you don't care about keeping your tires under your flares than use a 70's ford HP front and a 60 or 14 bolt rear, they would be the strongest. Stay away from chevy stuff diff is on wrong side and they steer front to rear instead of side to side like your jeep.
