In my 92 when I try to start it up first thing in the morning it takes a good 8-10 seconds of cranking the ignition before it'll take off. I'm in Yuma AZ and the mornings are about 45 to 50 degrees so I doubt it's the "cold".
After the first 8-10 seconds it will start up right away the rest of the day.
Is this an issue? What could be causing this?

50 isn't cold...im still wearing a t-shirt in that weather. Long start though...check valve in the fuel pump maybe? Could be stuck open and allowing the fuel in the rail to drain back to the tank. Id check that by just turning the key on for a few seconds and off again a couple of times and then start it. It would allow pressure to build in the fuel rail.
Something else, how thick is your oil (grade?). The thicker the oil and the colder the temp makes for more resistance in oil pan for the starter to turn, making longer start times.

I am running 10w30 synthetic blend it is 75 today and still the same problem. Its really starting to annoy me. I tried turning the key multiple times like you said to build the fuel pressure but that doesn't help.
