Default Clutch Slave Cylinder - Frequent Failures

I own a 1990 Jeep Cherokee; 4 liter six, 5 speed manual transmission;
248,000 miles on the vehicle.
I have had frequent failures with either the master clutch cylinder or the slave cylinder. More often with the slave cylinder - a very costly repair job.
It just failed again; it was a genuine Mopar factory part and it failed after only 37,000 miles.
Before I put on another factory part, I want to do some checking around.
Does anyone know of a third party after market clutch slave cylinder that might give better life than the factory part?
Thank you for your input.

you have the notorious to failure internal slave, you should go to the external slave and internal shift fork. if the slave fails, you dont have to remove the transmission. 2 common problems with clutch systems, air in the lines (poor bleeding, bad connections) and hot fluid (lines run to close to exhaust pieces). so check those two first, and with your new slave. never had a master cylinder fail on a jeep and i abuse the crap out of mine. but you should look into the external slave setup that came on the 94 and up cherokee 5 speeds

When the master failed on my 84/2.5 it pissed right out the fuse box Also was very pricy. For some reason the kit was NA or not practical.

Neat to hear you can get away from that internal slave nonsense! Thanks.

Rockauto had choices of 1/2 dozen fuel pumps, don't know about slaves.

I had that old set up. I bought a AX15 tranny with the T case on it. Bought a complete slave set from dodge and never had a problem again.
