clutch slave cylinder!

ok, I am replacing the clutch slave cylinder on the XJ and am STUCK!
I have gotten the old one un-bolted from the tranny and got the roll pin out... and now I dont know what to do! Someone PLEASE help me... I am not a mechanic and so I ask that you have mercy on me if I dont know what you are talking about if you respond lol

You already did the hard part. Make sure you replace the rubber seal on the end of the line, it should come with the new slave cylinder along with a new roll pin. Basically put it back together the way it was and make sure you blead the system well.

... but I haven't gotten the old cylinder off yet.... shouldn't it come off after the roll pin is out?? that is what I THOUGHT I read online.....

Spray some good penetrating oil on it and try and twist it back and forth, but don't break the plastic line. I had to cut one cylinder apart with an abrasive wheel to get it apart, since the old cylinder is junk any way. Cut part way through in a couple of spots and break it apart with a pair of pliers, don't hit the steel fitting on the end of the line. Good luck.
