Default Clutch pedal position ?

After borrowing a friends older f150 with a clutch, yes i know trucks usually have longer clutch throws, but now I'm driving my jeep again I just dont like the clutch anymore. My clutch pedal is like 3 inches lower than my brake pedal and the engagement zone is very close to the floor, i have to be careful with floor mats and I dont have carpet. Bought the jeep needing a clutch and slave so I dont know hows its suppose to be. What I want to know is where other peoples clutch pedals are in relation to the brake pedal, I have a feeling the I'm not getting the full motion of the master and not fully disengaging the clutch.

Info: 95 4.0/ax15/321 with random parts from 88-01

That's peculiar... in my 99 the gas, brake, and clutch about about evenly spaced. The clutch is at the same level as the brake and takes about 1/2 of the travel to disengage.

I may be mistaken, but on my wrangler there was an adjustment thing between the pedal and the master cylinder. It seems like that is off, or your master cylinder may just be old and worn, and need replaced./ Either way, the furthest this problem should be is in your master cylinder, but look for an adjustmer first, because a few turns of a bolt is much cheaper than anything else.

Good luck and Keep us posted

Dumb moment- Also check your slave cylinder. If that is going bad, it would cause issues like that, and a slave cylinder is pretty cheap to replace. What year is this Jeep?

The clutch and slave are relatively new, bought the sealed unit from the dealer about 2 years ago when I built it. Replaced the slave last summer thanks trail damage. Its a 95 and I dont ever remember seeing an adjustment but will look again.

Try bleeding the system. Sounds like air in the lines. Check for leaks and places where its sucking in air

Well you cant really bleed the external slave systems like normal and its a pain to do. But the issue is the pedal wont go any higher than 3" below the break pedal, you can pull it with you hand and nothing.

I just wanted to know if other clutches are like this or if I have to remove the clutch pedal and make my own adjustment
