Default Clutch fan noisy???

I have a 2001 XJ and the clutch fan is loud as a buss. Usually it's loud just for a few seconds for the fluid to warm up in it, but I changed it and it does it worse. Normally when you accelerate the loud jet engine noise goes away in a few seconds, but in this case it just doesn't stop. The temp is around 210 or just a little higher during normal warm. When the temp is climbing up there during the first 10-15 minutes during accelerating it is loud anytime and I am getting really tired of it. I am planning on changing it back but I don't know. I would go to a main electric fan if I knew it would do the job.

The fan spins freely just like the oem one but it doesn't seem to be releasing with the heat spring like designed???

I used to have a '98 with the same problem and I changed it, along with every other cooling piece and it went away, so do I just have a bad clutch??

Thanks for the advice in advance...

it should spin freely when cold and have some resistance when hot...its a clutch design...dont know of much if any that use the spring fan clutch anymore....
