Excellent, thats one clunk fixed. I continue to have mine, so might actually go on from here.
Started with really violent clunk from rear end when pushed into drive, turned out my engine mount and transmount were up for replacement, and so was done. Fixed the violent clunk for 90% I'd say. However now, or now more clearly, I got a clunk from underneath the midconsole, somewhat to the left of it, when accelerating from stop anything more than light throttle will give me that clunk, also when put in reverse and start driving backwards. Slipyoke has been greased twice now, seems to maybe improve some. The clunk has a little brother clunk also more to the centre of the vehicle.
Any ideas? Transfluid has been refreshed, all bolts underneath are snug.

My clunk sounds like coming more from TC area and transmission!? pitman tierod has bursted seal, but clunk is not coming from there. Mine is RHD, but I reckon the TC is in same place as yours. there is 1/2 inch of rotational play in my driveshaft, no forward-backwards movement while trying. that play normal too?

Myy driveshaft had rotation. I'm betting you had the same problem I did, you need a new u joint at the back of the driveshadt. When I took mine out all the bearings had gone bad. Get that replaced and balanced and it should go back in with no play. Fixed it for me.

I had/have the same problem. I replaced the ujoint on the rear driveshaft and it got rid of the clunk while switching gears but I still have the low clunk when accelerating from zero or letting off the gas then accelerating again. How would you check the engine mounts?
edit: just realized this is a total gravedig, no need to respond
