Clock spring spun while out of vehicle
1998 XJ
I bought parts from the salvage to add cruise control. I got a steering wheel with switches, clock spring, and servo with cable and vacuum tubing.
I haven't installed it yet, but the other day, my son picked up the clock spring, said "What's this?", and SPUN IT! It has a warning label that advises not to do that.
What do I need to do with it before I install? I thought of counting the number of turns lock to lock, and trying to center it that way.

Thats what you want to do. Do a Google search you will find out what to do. I did the same thing and put it back in and all was fine. I think three to the left from spun right all the way is the answer.
