Default Clicking noise from EGR solenoid (?)

Attached is a picture of what I believe to be the EGR solenoid (correct me if that's wrong).

This morning it was making a clicking noise while idling, I have never noticed this before. Is that just the sound it makes when it's activated? Should I be concerned? Thanks

got any ID10t lights? check engine or anything? and all soleniod as long as they are electromechanical soleniod and not a solid start relay will make a noise when it gets power, or stops getting power, it the mechanical part in them that makes the noise (the contacts) is it causing it to run ruff or idol high?

That is the canister purge solenoid. They do click and would click louder if it wasn't rubber mounted. The noise is normal.

dont smack it! they can break pretty easily and kinda expensive to replace. The clicking is normal.

haha I just replaced mine this morning, I've been going on a fixing/spending spree and when I heard mine clicking like crazy I just decided to buy a new one, it was only 20-30 from rockauto. Though it might not have been necessary the new solenoid doesn't click like the old one did.
