Default Clear coat ???

Hi. I was hoping to get a quick confirmation on a cosmetic issue on my jeep. I searched around and figured that my hood/fenders/roof were peeling the clear coat off. Could someone please verify this for me? Other than going through the process of repainting, can I just reapply clear coat in the necessary areas? I'm pretty much a newb here. Thanks!

Specs:

1995 jeep xj
Green
4.0 HO

It would be much easier to sand it down and paint it with an acrylic enamel (glossy paint, no clear needed). Plus, it would look a lot better when finished

Yeah, your clear coat is peeling. My hood did the same thing, I sanded it down and rattle canned it.

you may be able to get away with wet sanding and faking it, but without being there and only judging pics/experience its hard to say how well it will turn out..

try hitting all around the cloudy areas with 400-600grit wet/dry paper and a sanding block make sure you keep a small stream of water running on it while you're sanding...

put a couple light coats of clear on the raw areas, light coats is the key to insure it doesn't crinkle around the existing areas, wet sand whole vehicle lightly with 1200 grit, then scrub whole truck with light scotch brite and dawn (like you're washing car)then shoot the whole thing...

clear coat isn't cheap by any means..

Thanks for the reply. Is it possible to sand just the existing clear coat down to base color and then reapply clear?

Hey thanks for the reply. Your suggestion is pretty much what I had in mind, just didn't know if it was worthwhile vs repainting.
