Default Cleaning process for tranny rebuild?

Hi,

The rebuild starts tomorrow. I've never cleaned the internals of an engine or transmission so I would like some critique on my plan. Also some advice on a good solvent.

1. soak with concentrated simple green to remove any buildup
2. use lint-free towels to wipe away any tough build up
3. do a quick rinse with water
4. thoroughly air dry with compressed air
5. placed clean and dry parts in sealed ziplock storage bags until process is complete

Questions:
How do you wash the valve body itself? Are there soft pipe cleaners to help clean out the small crevaces?

Thanks to all for any advice
Have a good weekend

Don't use compressed air with the valve body. Everything you wash with solvent (gas) soak it in clean ATF before putting it back together.
No water and paper towels.

Thanks for the advice.

With regard to solvents, I've heard recommendations for brake cleaner, gasonline, and paint thinner. Which one will leave the least amount of residue?
