Cleaning process for tranny rebuild?
Hi,
The rebuild starts tomorrow. I've never cleaned the internals of an engine or transmission so I would like some critique on my plan. Also some advice on a good solvent.
1. soak with concentrated simple green to remove any buildup
2. use lint-free towels to wipe away any tough build up
3. do a quick rinse with water
4. thoroughly air dry with compressed air
5. placed clean and dry parts in sealed ziplock storage bags until process is complete
Questions:
How do you wash the valve body itself? Are there soft pipe cleaners to help clean out the small crevaces?
Thanks to all for any advice
Have a good weekend

Thanks for the advice.
With regard to solvents, I've heard recommendations for brake cleaner, gasonline, and paint thinner. Which one will leave the least amount of residue?
