Default Cleaning Injectors

Anyone know how to clean injectors on the 93' I6 HO? I haven't really seen anything on the forum about cleaning them, mostly upgrades and confusing lb psi ratios.

The Jeep is running real crappy, I replaced the fuel filter and it continued to suck. I did the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor about 4 months ago, so I really don't think it's any of those, but I'm going to buy the parts anyway because I need to do a tune up on my 90. I'll put the parts in the 93 and if it still sucks I'll just move them over to the 90.

I don't think it's the fuel pump because I can hear it prime just like every time.

So that leaves me with injectors and I have really no way of finding out what injector might be having an issue.

It's my DD and I'm taking tomorrow off to go through all of this, so any qucik suggestions on how to clean the injectors would be awesome. I kinda have to have it back on the road quick fast and in a hurry.

I did a search online and they're all pretty generalized.

Also, I've tried additives, but this sucker must be beyond the minimal cleaning those guys do.

Another member of the forum posted this in one of the fuel injector threads and I just thought it was an awesome idea. I plan on using this setup to clean my new injectors when they come in from eBay before I install them. This should help you out

That is epic. I can have that built in a few minutes if I stop by the JY and get a plug harness and radioshack for the converter.

My thoughts exactly. I'm going to the JY tomorrow to grab some factory tow hooks and I'm gonna pick up the fuel injector connector while I'm there. I already have a momentary switch and I'm gonna hack up an old phone charger for the power source. I work at a pharmacy so the 5 ml syringe shouldn't be a problem either.

I'm not overlooking anything though right? It's got to be the injectors in my mind, but dont mind being proven wrong.

Low RPMS at idle, chugs a long on the road and spurts occasionally.

And, just out of curiosity, I pulled a couple plugs off while the engine was running and there was no difference?

I'd go ahead an try cleaning the injectors to see if it makes a difference. While your at it, you can clean out the TB. My buddy's Wrangler sat for 2 years before he bought it and it ran like crap. It idled shakily and bogged when you hit the gas. He cleaned the injectors the other day and it runs like a top now.

Maybe not a phone charger, but something like that. I got a whole drawer full of random chargers so I just need to see which one will work for the application. Worse comes to worse, I have access to a power supply with AC and DC setting with adjustable voltages and what not.

Thinking about it, think I'll just do the car battery. The voltage is right and the injector is only going to pull the amps it needs. I've got 40 ft of 18 gauge wire, so ill take about an inch or 2 of insulation off and wrap each piece around the battery bolts. Then I should have about 18 feet or so away from the vehicle keeping the fire hazrd down. Still need to go to the junk yard though for the plug. I've got to get some door pins anyway.
