Default cherokee totaled ?

Today i was rear-ended in my jeep cherokee. At first the damge didnt look too bad untill i looked at the underside. The frame rails are bent several inches,my trunck floor is caved up wards several inches, the lift gate is all tweeked, there is a huge gap in between the rear door and the quarter, and the quarter is tweeked. Does anyone know how hard it is straighten out frame rails on a Cherokee. Or any idea if its totaled because it looks pretty bad.I dont want to junk it,its been in my family since new(18 year) and ive grown to love the hardy little jeep.

Sounds like it's time for a new one. To fix the damage listed could be done, but it would cost more than the jeep is worth if you were to pay someone to do it. the insurance co will total it for sure, with the age of most xj's on the road it dosn't take much to total them out.

Sell it for parts and buy another one.

check with a collision center, they have the frame straighteners that are mounted to the shop floor. you never know, you might just find someone that works wonders with those things.
remember the cheep jeep on trucks, he started out with his front end frame all banged up, and with a bit of work, he got that straight again.
i think the rear would be a bit easier, you wouldn't need to be as accurate as the front.

just a thought before you scrap your family jeep.
