There are other threads people are currently talking about this in...why start another? Add to another thread and save some bandwidth. But nice try.

Unless your a mod, you nor does anyone else have the right to TELL someone. If you have a problem, tell a mod.

And if your so concerned about bandwidth, why would you originally post up concerning about "make another thread" shananigans?

And clearly, with only 20 posts, the op is new. It's people like you that scare away people are trying to learn. Back in 2008 when you joined this forum, how would feel if someone came off hostile towards you?

I wasn't telling anyone anything, but I guess I will add my telling tale for the day...If you're trying to learn use the "search function".

I wouldn't have much cared in 2008, if ever because I know how to search for answers. And, 2008 just happened to be when I found this forum...not the internet.

Anyways, good day, it's been fun.

I came off sounding like an *** but it wasn't intended. I'm a very blunt person. And what I meant by 2008 is that you may not hav had the KNOWLEDGE as to where search is.

My 94 country 4.0 5spd all stock gets 16-18mpg as my daily driver. Took it on a trip about 2 weeks ago and she got 21. I was pumped because I got rid of my 04 f150 POS that only got 13 on a good day.

I'm obviously new to this forum, and was really not trying to start an argument. I'm just amazed how often someone feels compelled to point out that something has been discussed before. So what? There are thousands of old threads. Chances are, anything someone cares to talk about will have been covered before. But this forum is not just an archive of information. It's a place to discuss.

If a friend called you to talk about something , would you tell them you had already had a similar discussion with some other friends, so go ask them?

I'm sorry if I have turned this guy's thread into a war. But I have to agree with the person whose advice was to notify a mod if you have a problem with a topic. What you did was just plain rude.

For what it's worth, if you would have brought an old thread back, someone would have *****ed about resurrecting an old thread. there is no win here. lol

I filled up, last tank 15.9 after cleaning throttle body, doing the ratcheting cable adjustment, and adjusting tire pressure to 32 all around.

Once i get the rear leafs done, I'm going to have it aligned and check after a few tanks through it and see if it goes up any. I may jsut end up with 703 injectors if more proof can be had that they increase it any. If I could get up to 20-21mpg, I'd be so happy.

I just got my xj a couple weeks ago, so far only ran 2 full tanks thru it. The first tank was at 18mpg and the second was at 14. Not real sure why there was a difference since I did about the same driving route give or take. I try to baby it as much as possible with a few exceptions of layin into it. Ive already got a cold air intake and dual exhaust an have a tbs waiting to be put on so hopefully that helps...if not oh well it was only 35 bucks But I dont want the old argument about tbs's to get started again.

Ran my Cherokee from 7/8 of a tank down to 1/8-1/4...the light was just coming on going uphill and on a slight downhill it read about 1/4 tank. It took me 250 miles to get there, all city/backroads driving. Filled it up today right at 250 miles and it took about 15 gallons. don't know exact numbers since I don't know how many gallons I had to start, but it seems pretty good. Oh, and I'm running stock street tires (not for much longer though haha) with no lift, just a 4.0 with an automatic, 8.25 rear end and 200k miles on it.

Yes. With the IAT directly on the intake manifold, it heats up. Run the engine till it hit's operating temps. Then, if you don't believe me, touch the manifold and see how hot it gets. Thats the temperature the air is going to get to, almost instantly. This hot air going into the engine causes our engines to run rich, adding fuel that is not needed.

Relocating a sensor to the air box, will trick the engine into thinking that there is cold air. Thus, causing the engine to run "normal" or less lean than before. Not lean in a bad way however.

BUT! There is a catch. With our XJ's, there were three different sensors in three different locations. You need to get the sensor from a JY engine (or 'waste' your money and order a new one) that is in the same location as yours.

Now, once you go to "relocate" on your engine, leave the OEM sensor in it's original locations and install your new/jy one into the air box. There are write-ups on this but since THERE ARE NEW MEMBERS HERE.... I figuered I'd do a mini-write up. Some engine wires need to be extended, others don't.

The reason why you leave your stock one there is so in the cold months, when your engine needs that hot air to function, your just unplug the sensor from the box and plug it back into your OEM sensor. Hope this helps!
