My Jeep died one day, no fuel pump noise! Replaced the fuel pump thinking that was the problem! Nope! Still wouldn’t run and still no fuel pump noise! Shorted the fuel pump relay and she started and ran fine! Thinking it was the relay I got a new one, not the problem! I switched the computers from another Cherokee (which worked fine before when I was messing with it) still doesn’t do anything! I put a new cps in it, not the problem! It’ll run fine with the relay shorted most the time! Until it dies and chooses not to start again! Leave it sitting 1-2 days and it’ll start and run fine! I can’t think of anything else helpppp

 

What do you mean by shorting across the relay ?

What are you shorting from & to ?

 

Just shorting the relay, with a paper clip forcing it to constantly run

 

But are you shorting the 'load' side (power supply to pump) or the 'throw' side (positive & negative from harness), or are you doing a combination ??

I think the ASD relay controls the fuel pump relay to shut it down!!! if a number of things are not right!!!. -You need to be handy!!! with the volt meter.!!!
