Default cherokee cruise control

i know that this is mostly(all)an off road site but have any of you had cruise problems on your (daily driver)cherokee.my on/off switch went south so i replaced it and now my cruise wont turn on...

That sounds more like you have a blown fuse and or relay..

Check your fuses and then look at your wiring to make sure everything is connected.

checked fuse only 1 on that circuit(brake lite switch fuse)no relays...i think power comes from the PCM, hope that is not damaged.

Brake light switces fail and cause cruise control problems alot - also the wires come thru from the wheel to the column in the clockspring - these wires break often and one other common cruise problem is a vacuum leak in the plastic tube under the battery tray that goes to the vacuum cannister

would a vacume leak prevent the cruise lite from liteing up?????ill check continuity from the switches through the clock spring in the morning.thanks for the idea about wireing... was hoping for a reboot button(lol) or something easyer.thx again
