so hey all.. i recently bought my chrokee one month ago to the day.. of this horribable accident ,that happened to my family and i.. we where taking a short day trip for the first time in the jeep this past sunday .i had stoped on the highway turn signal on to make a left .. my daughter behind me in the rear seat ,and wife on the front pass .as we waited for trafic so i could make my left turn. i checked the rearveiw mirror and seen a car comeing very fast not slowing.i had no time to react. i seen the car swerve to the left into oncomeing traffic .i then yelled (here it comes!!!) but they didnt know what i was yelling at .and i braced myself . saying "were dead" to myself and then the impact .the car struck us at 65-70 mph on the rear drivers side just behind my daughter.where she is 9yrs took the most of the impact. after the the crash i turned around to see if everyone one was ok .my little one was in alot of pain .i told her to dont move and to try to stay calm. as im thinking "we are in the middle of the highway" we might be hit agagin by another so i hoped out and called 911 ,while directing traffic .we all took the ambulance ride .while my daughter was injured .thank the god she is doing fine with a concution and sever whiplash . she could have easily been killled .thats really scary to think how close i came to losing her.i really think that the spare tire is what saved her . deflecting alot of the impact .so this is a testement of how tough the cherokee really is . here some pics ..

Funny we wrecked the same corners of our jeeps. Funny part is that I drove it another 20 miles home after that incident!

First I very glad you and your family are all alive and my best wishes are out to your daughter.

As I was reading this I saw, in my mind, a lime green honda civic with clear tail lights, white rims, and primer-ed wing and body kit ramming into your Jeep. Then I remember you hadn't stated the model car that hit you, was it a ricer or am I just a ricerist? How'd the other driver (and vehicle) hold up? Were they drunk, high, stupid, or just unfortunate?
