I assume this is an NP231? Is it dropped at all or something maybe messed up your linkage?

that's interesting its missing.... Around me you can get them used on craigs list for 35$, or junk yards for about the same. there are 4 bolts on the transfer case side, and 4 bolts with 2 straps for the front diff. its pretty simple to do.

I bought the jeep off some shady guy for 750 so nothing surprises me about this thing anymore...... I just googled it, around 550-600 for a brand new one.... If i cant find one at a junk yard looks like i'm selling this thing or junking it.

like he said. I picked mine up at the junkyard for $40, so I have a spare. make sure you get one that has an auto transmission if thats what you have, or manual etc. I got mine from an automatic and its an inch longer than my manual one, so I had to switch double cardan joints which is what originally broke.

there 35$ are a yard if you go pull it. I am sure the other yards that pull it for you will want 100-200...lol

If you cant find a driveshaft right away its not a big deal. You can drive it like that instead of junking or selling it.

I bought the jeep with the intentions of having a winter car for the upcoming winter, it won't serve its purpose without that driveshaft and i have no need for 2 cars.

If it runs good, don't junk it out. Jeeps are too hard to find.

That piece is missing on my jeep. It just has what i'm assuming is a front diff but nothing connected to it. How much do they run for and how hard are they to install?
Where are you located? Just run to a JY and get one out of a scrapped Cherokee, or better yet get two so you have one for doing an SYE in the future. My new one from Carolina rockshop was around $100. Very easy to install at home. Just 8 bolts, 4 on each end
