Cherokee 4WD Indicator Light

Cherokee 4WD Indicator Light
The indicator light for "Part Time 4-Wheel Drive" does not go out when the lever is disengaged. The light changes OK when "Full Time 4-Wheel Drive" is engaged. Vehicle is 2001 Cherokee Limited. Any suggestions?

Have you tried giving it a few minutes? My when shifting out of 4PT on my '94, sometimes the light stays on for a good 5 minutes. Other than that though I would have no idea.
