cheep cherokee fender trim on trucks!
I was watching the cheep cherokee part 2 on trucks and when they trimmed the rear fenders these guys said "you can't just cut the front there is an inner panel that you have to cut as well." They were installing bushwackers.
I thought this messed up the unibody? Is this bad advice? Has anyone else cut them off this way?
And finally is this mod with both "inner" and "outer" panels cut legal in jeepspeed.

I've always seen the cut and fold method that saves the pinch welds. These guys cut off the entire outside fender, like you would the front and it didn't fall off. They said you had to cut off the "inner panel." I thought this was the inner fender.

Hes talking about the inner fender lip. You cant just cut it. Its welded and holds the floor board inside together to the firewall and outer fender. You can cut slits in it and bend it over with a BFH thogh.

thelaststarfighter read both mine and bronco fire's posts and mixed them together...my post was meant to clarify that they are two seperate areas altogether. Sorry, tried to make it short.
bronco fire is talking about the front fenders, where the inner fender does share part of the firewall.
I was talking about inner fender wells in the rear fenders, where there is no firewall.

its not rocket science you cant hack the rear fenders like you can the fronts because that is were the wheel wells are and the body ties together there. so you cut a lil and fold a lil. thats why every xj in the world with cut fenders it hacked to hell in the front and trimmed about an inch in the rear.

ok....help me out here.
Everytime someone says that they trim the rear they say "dont cut the pinch seams." it ties everything together so it will fall apart or there will be a big gaping hole is what I have assumed. Like you'll see the asphalt through a huge hole from the inside. These guys cut the rear out above the lip and then said "it won't fall off unless you cut the inner panel." They cut on the inside (which they don't show well at all) then the out part falls off and they bolt on the bushwackers. On the inside of the wheel well if you tapped with your knuckles, is this the same peice of metal you see on the inside as your fender??????? or is there like an inner and outer panel like on the front and if you trim it up it will just be wobbly like the front is??????
