After some light trails, and a few kinda deep puddles, my check gauges light came on and my volts dropped completely. I checked and tightened the terminals but no go. Could i have wet something or caused a short? I made the three mile ride home without a problem.

 

Get the alternator tested. You may have got it wet and messed it up.

 

Update:
So i parked the jeep, enjoyed my thanksgiving, took a nap, and went back out to start it up and all is well.

 

Interesting I did not know there was a check gauge light. I switched from an idiot light no tach,check gauge cluster to a gauge/tach cluster & after reading this post checked mine & dam there it was, so I guess I still have an idiot light system as a secondary warning.
