Check Engine Light

There should be a vent line on the top of your gas tank follow it till it hits the evap canister (looks like coffee can kinda) or purge solenoid check for cracks in hose if not swap evap parts

So follow the line from the gas tank, to the canister.
Is that up front, "the canister"?
Check the line...gotcha!
Swap out what evap parts? Are they on that line?

Ahhhh. Thanks!!! I will go out and follow the line back from it, and see where it goes, if there are any cracks. If not, maybe I will change that, and try to clear the code. I don't know if advance can get it. the guy honestly seemed confused. He said he had something that was 38.00, that he could order, and thought that might be it.

Okay, thats what he showed me. I even had to go out and uise the scanner myself. He said he was new and didn't know how. ugh!
Heres what he showed me. maybe I should order it, and hope that it fixes it, if there are no cracks on the line anywhere.

Okay, I checked the vac line all the back to the canister. No cracks, nice and solid. I checked the other line that goes to the intake, and it is fine. The rubber elbow that went onto the intake, was a bit loose, so I clamped it though. I guess I will run down and order this part, and see what happens.

Okay, I am really confused. I changed the purge solenoid. Still have the check engine light.
I went back to advance, and they used their computer, and cleared the code out.
While the ignition was "on", the check engine light went "out" when he cleared it.
He told me not to touch it, and ran it for codes. Good to go! No light, and no codes on his handheld. I was so damn happy!
I turned the ignition off, and back on, and back came the same code.
He cleared the code three times, and finally gave up. It stays cleared, until I turn the ignition off.
I even had him clear it, and I drove it all the way home, and no light. Soon as I got home, and turned it off, then back on. The check engine light was back on.
I am so lost, I have no idea what to do. I can't get it inspected with the light on for emissions.
I checked the plastic lines, look good, I see no cracks. Any Ideas?
read somewhere else there is supposed to be a clicking noise. I don't recall hearing that, unless it is a very quiet click.

I got 4 codes on my infiniti g20t and it purs like a kitten. Id like to say that most check engine light code really dont effect performance.

Might have a short somewhere in the harness going to it..
Or a blown fuse, but I doubt that has its own fuse..

DUTY CYCLE EVAP CANISTER PURGE
SOLENOID
The Duty Cycle EVAP Canister Purge Solenoid reg-
ulates the rate of vapor flow from the EVAP canister
to the intake manifold. The Powertrain Control Mod-
ule (PCM) operates the solenoid.
During the cold start warm-up period and the hot
start time delay, the PCM does not energize the sole-
noid. When de-energized, no vapors are purged. The
PCM de-energizes the solenoid during open loop oper-
ation.
The engine enters closed loop operation after it
reaches a specified temperature and the time delay
ends. During closed loop operation, the PCM cycles
(energizes and de-energizes) the solenoid 5 or 10
times per second, depending upon operating condi-
tions. The PCM varies the vapor flow rate by chang-
ing solenoid pulse width. Pulse width is the amount
of time that the solenoid is energized. The PCM
adjusts solenoid pulse width based on engine operat-
ing condition.
The solenoid attaches to a bracket located in the
right-rear side of engine compartment (Fig. 3).The
top of the solenoid has the word UP or TOP on it.
The solenoid will not operate properly unless it is
installed correctly.
Look at fuse 10 (15a) in the junction block (kick panel) and see if its blown...

The performance is great. Thats whats irritating. But I have to have an emissions done. So I can get it inspected.
